The schemes were initiated in Village Kikor and Village Karshat, Union Council Damorai, Tehsil Alpuri.

In a continued effort to improve water resource management SRSP, with financial support from the European Union in Pakistan (EU), has initiated the rehabilitation and improvement work on two irrigation schemes in District Shangla, under the PEACE II Project.

The schemes were initiated in Village Kikor and Village Karshat, Union Council Damorai, Tehsil Alpuri. The Kikor Irrigation Scheme will benefit 176 households, covering a command area of 503 kanals, while the Karshat Irrigation Scheme will benefit 250 households covering 400 kanals. Both schemes involve rehabilitation of 2.5 km irrigation channels, aimed at ensuring reliable water supply and improving agricultural productivity.

The ground breaking ceremony of both schemes was held at Standard Public School, Damorai. Besides, a large number of community, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Shangla, representatives from relevant line departments and SRSP officials attended the event.
