In a continued effort to promote climate-smart agriculture and efficient water management, groundbreaking of Smart Irrigation project was held at the Agriculture Research Institute (ARI), Swat.
Under this initiative, a smart drip irrigation system will be installed at @Agriculture Research Institute, Swat to demonstrate modern, resource-efficient irrigation practices. The ceremony was attended by Director ARI, farmers, agriculture university students, women engaged in home-based kitchen gardening and community members.
The smart drip irrigation system aims to achieve up to 40 percent water efficiency, improve crop yields and reduce energy consumption through precision irrigation and modern technology. The project will serve as a demonstration and learning site, supporting knowledge sharing and wider adoption of sustainable irrigation practices in the region.
SRSP is implementing the Smart Irrigation Project in partnership with #OPM, with financial assistance from #FCDOGovUK.
