Project Brief

With financial support from the Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization, SRSP is rehabilitating six flood-damaged Mini Micro Hydro Projects (MHPs) in Upper Kohistan, Lower Kohistan, and Kolai Pallas.

Objective

  • To restore and enhance clean energy access for flood-affected communities in District Kohistan.

Progress Update of Activities

With a combined generation capacity of 1,215 kW, these schemes will benefit 7,881 households. The PKR 177.70 million investment covers civil works, Electro-Mechanical Equipment (EME), and Transmission & Distribution (T&D). Rehabilitation began between August and November 2024, with construction underway on power channels, intakes, gravel traps, fore bay tanks, and powerhouse works. Once completed, the projects will restore sustainable energy access, improve livelihoods, and strengthen resilience in flood-affected communities.
