Project Brief

This project intends to benefit a total of 300 households, aiming to alleviate poverty by empowering the community with sustainable means of income through the provision of low-cost electricity.

Objective

The village Bela, situated 60 KMs from the district headquarters, grapples with inadequate basic facilities, including electricity and accessible road networks. The construction of 100-kilowatt Micro Hydro Power Plant, focuses on implementing hydro renewable energy solutions in the underdeveloped village of Bella, located in UC Gwaldai, Tehsil Shringal, District Upper Dir.

Progress Update of Activities

  • 95% physical progress is completed in the civil work which includes construction of the intake, Headrace canal, forbay tank, powerhouse, and installation of transmission lines, turbines and the electromagnetic equipment.
  • Successfully conducted managerial and financial trainings of the power committee and O&M committee members, for improved capacity building within the area.
