SRSP in parentships with UNICEF under the funding of ECW is implementing a project, “Bringing back out of school children to education in selected districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa”.
Objective
The project aims at enrollment of out of school children by establishing non-formal education centers (Accelerated Education program centers) AEPs. Moreover, the project also focuses on WASH facilities improvement in formal schools along with enrollment campaigns supporting Education department to enroll out of school children in formal schools. The project focuses on Afghan inclusion and is being implemented in District Peshawar, Kohat and Mansehra.
Progress Update of Activities
50 elementary level AEP centers have been established under the project out of which 30 are girls and 20 are boys’ centers. 1,769 students (1065 girls and 704 boys) were enrolled in these AEP centers.
Under this project so far package “D” (Class 6th and 7th) has been completed and the students have been promoted to Package “E” (class 8th). The project will be completed in December upon the completion of package “E”.
