Upper Kohistan

In Upper Kohistan district, Sarhad Rural Support Programme (SRSP) has achieved full coverage across all 15 union councils, implementing a comprehensive community-driven development program. The organization has established 1,002 Community Organizations, comprising 704 male groups (MCOs) and 298 female groups (WCOs), representing 23,760 households. This strong institutional foundation demonstrates SRSP’s effective grassroots mobilization in the district.

At the village level, SRSP has supported the formation of 30 Village Organizations, including 22 male groups (MVOs) and 8 female groups (WVOs), along with 3 Local Support Organizations (LSOs). This structured approach ensures active community participation in local development initiatives.

Capacity-building efforts have reached 7,541 individuals through training programs, including 5,541 managerial trainees (3,443 men and 2,098 women) and 2,000 vocational trainees (1,208 men and 792 women). These initiatives have enhanced leadership skills and livelihood opportunities, with a focus on inclusive participation.

In the infrastructure sector, SRSP has completed 125 community projects with a total investment of PKR 326.28 million. These include 38 drinking water supply schemes, 17 communication projects, 15 irrigation schemes, 24 sanitation projects, and 30 micro-hydro projects, benefiting 16,030 households across the Upper Kohistan district.
