In the isolated district of Upper Dir, the Sarhad Rural Support Programme (SRSP) has established a wide-reaching presence across all 28 Union Councils, engaging with 117 Village Councils and serving a total of 120,228 households as per the 2017 census.
Social mobilization efforts have resulted in the formation of 3,564 Community Organizations (2,491 male, 1,073 female), comprising 84,433 member households (61,427 male, 23,006 female). Additionally, 148 Village Organizations (110 male, 38 female) have been formed, alongside 8 LSOs and 40 Interest Groups to strengthen community engagement.
Capacity development has been a major focus, with 30,683 individuals trained through SRSP programs. Of these, 23,176 received managerial training (14,414 men, 8,762 women) and 7,507 received vocational training (6,612 men, 895 women). In total, 21,026 men and 9,657 women were trained.
Under the Community Physical Infrastructure (CPI) program, 610 schemes have been implemented, including 147 DWSS, 157 communication, 68 irrigation, 78 sanitation, and 55 other schemes. The total investment in CPI stands at a substantial PKR 1.17 billion, benefitting 123,271 households.
Upper Dir has benefited from Community Investment Fund (CIF) disbursements amounting to Rs. 57.49 million, reaching 5,344 beneficiaries.
