In the rugged and mountainous district of Upper Chitral, SRSP has extended its development initiatives across all 10 Union Councils, supporting 39 Village Councils and covering an estimated 25,680 households.
Under the social mobilization framework, 1,051 Community Organizations have been established, comprising 637 male and 414 female organizations, with a total membership of 24,777 households (15,430 male, 9,347 female). In addition, 63 Village Organizations (47 male, 16 female) and 8 Local Support Organizations (LSOs) have been formed, along with 14 Interest Groups to address localized concerns.
Capacity-building through training has reached a total of 8,407 individuals, including 6,212 in managerial training (3,745 men, 2,467 women) and 2,195 in vocational training (1,373 men, 822 women). Of the total trainees, 5,118 were men and 3,289 were women.
Community Physical Infrastructure (CPI) schemes implemented in the district number 131 projects, which include 60 DWSS, 17 communication, 30 irrigation, 1 IAUP, and 18 other miscellaneous schemes. The total development cost stands at PKR 653.7 million, benefitting 17,692 households.
Upper Chitral has also benefited from Community Investment Fund (CIF) support, with Rs. 8.91 million disbursed to 805 beneficiaries.
