
SRSP has established full coverage across all 28 union councils of Shangla district, creating an extensive network of 3,546 community organizations. This includes 2,229 male groups (MCOs) and 1,317 female groups (WCOs), collectively representing 86,619 households. The high participation rate demonstrates strong community engagement in this mountainous North Region district, reflecting successful grassroots mobilization efforts.
The program has developed a multi-layered institutional framework consisting of 187 village organizations, including 138 male groups (MVOs) and 49 female groups (WVOs), supported by 8 Local Support Organizations (LSOs). This structure effectively facilitates community participation in local development planning, with women’s groups making up a significant portion of village-level institutions—a notable achievement in this traditionally conservative area.
Capacity-building initiatives have reached 23,176 residents through comprehensive training programs. Leadership training has equipped 16,152 individuals, including 10,381 men and 5,771 women, with essential management skills. Vocational programs have trained 7,024 participants, comprising 3,778 men and 3,246 women, in practical livelihood skills. The balanced gender participation in vocational training highlights the program’s success in promoting women’s empowerment.
Infrastructure development has significantly improved living conditions through 383 completed projects with a total investment of PKR 953.41 million. The diverse range of interventions includes 116 drinking water supply schemes, 77 communication projects, 2 irrigation systems, 14 soil conservation initiatives, 81 sanitation facilities, and 82 micro-hydro plants. These projects have benefited 78,183 households, addressing critical needs in water access, connectivity, renewable energy, and environmental sustainability. The micro-hydro projects, in particular, have brought clean energy solutions to remote mountainous communities.
