The Merged District Orakzai lies in the Kohat Division of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Orakzai District. District Orakzai is characterized by a very strong tribal structure and very rich ethnic diversity and cultural heritage. SRSP has extended its community-driven development model to The Merged District Orakzai, establishing operations in 12 of the region’s 15 union councils. The organization has laid a strong foundation for grassroots participation by forming 194 Community Organizations, including 175 male and 19 female community organizations, collectively representing 3,301 households. This institutional framework has been further strengthened through the establishment of 4 male-led Village Organizations and 3 Local Support Organizations, creating structured platforms for community engagement and decision-making.

Leadership development initiatives have trained 2,009 participants (1,320 men and 689 women), while vocational skills programs have benefited 2,378 individuals (1,872 men and 506 women). These training interventions demonstrate gradual progress in women’s participation, with female representation constituting 34% of leadership trainees and 21% of vocational trainees—a notable achievement in this traditionally conservative tribal context.
