
Before the merger of ex-FATA into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mohmand District was an agency of Federally Administered Tribal Areas. In 1951 Mohmand Agency was came into being and merged in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 2018. SRSP has established operations in 12 of Merged District Mohmand’s 21 union councils, implementing its community-focused development model. The organization has formed 143 Male Community Organizations (MCOs) representing 3,432 households, creating platforms for local decision-making and collective action. While no female COs or Village Organizations have been established yet, this initial institutional framework provides a foundation for future expansion of community institutions.
Capacity-building efforts have reached 787 individuals through structured training programs. Managerial training has been provided to 587 participants (514 men and 73 women), while vocational skills training has benefited 200 individuals (195 men and 5 women). These initiatives focus on developing both leadership capabilities and practical skills, though women’s participation remains limited in this conservative tribal context.
The infrastructure development portfolio includes 103 completed Community Physical Infrastructure schemes with a total investment of PKR 152.4 million. These projects consist of 2 drinking water supply systems, 1 irrigation scheme, and various other community development initiatives that have directly benefited 11,596 households. The infrastructure work addresses fundamental needs while building community resilience in this challenging region.
