Project Brief

Following the flood damages of 2022, KfW, in collaboration with SRSP as a partner organization of PPAF, pledged a grant to the ongoing LACIP-II project in Southern KP.

Objective

The project aims to facilitate rehabilitation efforts in the target districts for over three and a half years.

It also contributes to the stabilization of fragile areas by enhancing living conditions and constructing climate resilient infrastructure to improve the quality of life of the flood affected communities and households in the targeted union councils. Currently the expected number of targeted beneficiaries is 35,000 individuals.

Progress Update of Activities

  • 49 rapid needs assessment (RNA) exercise was conducted through inclusive focus group discussions with local villagers and targeted communities under the Integrated Area Upgradation Project (IAUP).
  • 5,124 individuals including 1,815 women attended Poverty Wealth Ranking (PWR) exercise to identify the poorest and vulnerable segments of the population in their respective villages.
  • So far, Poverty score card (PSC) ranking of 2,085 organized community members including 770 women has been conducted. 
  • 126 participants including 33 women have been enrolled in different trainings like electrician, plumbing, advanced tailoring, machine embroidery and E-commerce.
  • 250 community organizations formed among which 95 are women, and 23 CMSTs and 07 LMSTs have been arranged for these COs.
  • 4 Meetings of district development forums have been organized to help foster state-citizen linkages.
